Agastya Siddhar

Agasthya is one of the Saptarishis and the foremost of the Siddhas. He composed Agathiyam, the first grammar book for Tamil language. Agathiyam is a very archaic Tamil that refers to the ancient Tamil language and modern Tamil language people and he learned Tamil from Lord Shiva. His wife's name was Lopamutrai. From his songs we can know that he lived in the sixteenth century. He was the foremost scholar in the history of Trinity.


Books written by Agasthya:

Agastya composed the 26 suktas of the Rig Veda. He is said to have written the first Tamil grammar book, Agathiyam. This book is not available. Found in Agasthya's writings books:
